Breeds of Mountain Dogs That Are Both Hardy and Adorable 

Huge: While not every mountain dog is so massive, it's not uncommon for them to reach a height and weight of over 100 pounds and 30 inches. 

Coat thickness: Mountain dogs are known to sport thick, double coats that shed profusely. 

Their fur helps them stay warm and protected from the cold alpine air. 

The protective nature of many mountain dogs is well-documented.
